AHE is unlikely because magnetization above 50 K is linear in a magnetic field (Fig. 3D). In contrast, the extracted sigma^A is not (see Fig. 6B). It is quite strange that the AHE survives even at 100 K. Multicarrier transport has to be carefully considered.
It should be noted that a different paper written by the same first author reported the field-dependent Hall resistivity in LaMn2Ge2 in a tilted magnetic field configuration (
doi.org/10.1002/adma.202305916). The authors interpreted this as a topological Hall effect, but I cannot find that the argument is reasonable. Such a behavior can also be explained by the field-induced rotation of the out-of-plane magnetization as suggested in

The peak in R_yx^AHE (Fig. 3(a)) may be explained within the trivial AHE induced by an out-of-plane magnetization. As the in-plane Hall system requires low symmetry, a net magnetization along the out-of-plane direction could be induced by a tilt of AFM spins of Eu due to the competing anisotropy axes. The induced M_z would be small, and it is in an agreement with the fact that the observed peak of the in-plane anomalous Hall signal is ~ 2 Ohm, which is 10% of the AHE signal for the out-of-plane field (Fig. 2).
On the basis of symmetry, the magnetization can be expressed as M_z = chi_zx*H_x + chi_zxxx*H_x^3, where chi_zx and chi_zxxx are magnetic susceptibility tensors allowed in the monoclinic magnetic point group system, where H_x is in the ab-plane and perpendicular to the C_2 axis. Below the saturation field, the induced M_z can cause the appearance of the trivial AHE signal even in the in-plane field configuration, which is not classified as the in-plane AHE but as "an ordinary AHE" due to the induced out-of-plane moment. In contrast to that, the linear increase of R_yx^AHE above the saturation field (Fig. 3(a)) would be a genuine in-plane AHE, which originates from the magnetization lying in the ab-plane.
Indeed, the symmetry of M_z (= chi_zx*H_x etc) is the same with that of sigma_xy in H_x. It is a serious issue how to distinguish the real in-plane AHE by the in-plane moment from the trivial AHE induced by the off-diagonal component in the magnetic susceptibility tensor.
